DIARY [ one ]

DIARY is entirely improvised and recorded directly to two-track; there are no overdubs or mixing, and hardly any edits. Tracks marked with a star (*) were edited by fixing beginning and end; track two of DIARY [two], is the only one that has been edited in the classic sense, i.e., a few moments have been edited out in addition to fixing its ending.

Presenting the recordings in chronological order makes is possible for the listener to follow the evolution of Klangstaub's musical work over time – the recording session in London was actually the first time Bernhard Günter and Gary Smith met in person, and played together live ( earlier collaborations had been performed by the mail ).
